Research Postdoctorl Scientist

General Summary: The purpose of this Postdoctoral graduate position is to enhance professional skills under the mentorship of a principal investigator/scientist/professor.  The incumbent plans and conducts assigned and/or original research projects autonomously while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, post docs, and students.
 
Essential Duties: 
1.    Plan and conduct assigned and/or original research projects autonomously under the supervision of mentor.
2.    Maintain accurate records of research findings and the analysis of results.
3.    Prepare manuscripts for publication in collaboration with faculty, staff, post docs, and students.
4.    Present research findings at professional meetings.

A.    Education / Training: PhD, MD or DO and basic laboratory research experience required.

B.    Work Experience:   Ability to perform a variety of laboratory procedures.

C.    Certification, Licensure, Registration: None

D.    Other Qualifications: Ability to perform a variety of laboratory procedures. Scientific methodology, mathematical ability, technical writing skills, computer skills (word processing, presentation software, database management). Interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge and application of experimental techniques related to department specific research.
